Правительственный орган, который под руководством Генерального директора по честной торговле следит за коммерческой деятельностью в Великобритании в целях защиты потребителя от недобросовестной практики. Созданный в 1973 г., он отвечает за соблюдение Закона о честной торговле 1973 г., Закона о потребительском кредите 1974 г., Закона об ограничительной торговой практике 1976 г.. Закона об агентах по продаже недвижимости 1979 г., Закона о конкуренции 1980 г., Закона о финансовых услугах 1986 г. и Постановления о контроле за дезориентирующей рекламой 1988 г. Имеет пять основных сфер деятельности: вопросы, касающиеся потребителей; потребительский кредит; монополии и слияния; ограничительная торговая практика; антиконкурентные действия.
